Trans. has about 100k on it. I had the pan off a few weeks ago and found a piece of a snap ring logged in the valve body preventing a manual downshift. Pan was spotless, no clutch, band material at all. Went to go home from work last night and no 3rd gear. Went into work early this morning and pulled the trans out. The convertor clutch went! Tons of crap in the pump, 2 broken snap rings and a broken reverse servo. Good news is I work for a trans. shop. Well it's all new, even upgraded the direct drum from a 3 clutch to a 4 clutch. I installed it this afternoon and drove it home. Cost me about $400.00 in parts. What a day.

Yes, builder says he done an extra good job, he know I'll complain even though the labor is free. LOL I also pulled a 4l60e 4x4, work on several other vehicles as well yesterday. I was tired when I got home just after 7 last night.

Well today I cussed myself out...then talked back and fired myself...then rehired me to get something done to get back to square one.

I just spent the last 10 hrs starting my whiplash cam swap into the 440.. unwrapped the harness and trimed up the wires so they will lay down nice along the M/T valve covers.

next was wp housing..broke a bolt off in the block. small stub left. tried welding about 7 nuts to it and none worked.. drilled the bolt and broke a bit off in the hole...then spent 5 hrs slowly picking it back out..drilled 25/64 for a heli coil. got that done and tore it down to t-chain.

I will try again in the morning maybe the hard stuff is over now.

glad I swaped the heads/spring/installed headers/pipes last weekend with very little issues or down time.

cam swaps are never that simple. seems all the other stuff around it becomes the issues that need fixed first.

I have a core that I'm going to build so I'll have a backup if this one ever goes.
