IIRC he wrecked the 71 Roadrunner and then built the 71 Cuda. The Cuda was wrecked at a KOS race at VMP. Last I heard he was rebuilding the Roadrunner.

Man that road runner ran good. There was another car running KOS I haven't heard of in some time. It was a yellow 69 bee. I think the guy's name was Rob Sylvester possibly.
Restoring a car to look "only" as good as the factory made it is like getting a boob job for your wife and having the doctor make them two different sizes to seem more natural

The RR had a nitroused, INDY head combo. Don't recall how big. I think 8.80s was about as fast as the RR ever went, but don't hold me to that. Bill went to B-1s in later years and then the smallblocks, but I think the Avenger was the first car for either of those combos to be run in. I am sure Leon and Andy remember some of the particulars here as well.

At the time, most all of us had small cube motors, because the rules were weight per cube. You built the engine to match where you thought you could actually make the car weigh. The largest motor I ever had in my car was 457 inches and the last one I was building for those rules, was a 446 inch, B-1 TS motor. I did not run as much KOS as Andy, Leon, Bill, Mike and some of the others, because I mostly concentrated on NMCA and the HOT ROD series and a lot of the dates conflicted. It was fun though and the group that ran KOS for years, was a great bunch of guys. I still see Andy Mayes and Brian Hicks (D-con 1 Challenger) quite a bit. Maybe we should post a KOS thread, let guys post the pics and see if a mod will put a sticky on it like the SS/AH thread.
