Some of you may remember my truck that I did the roller paint job on. Its a 318 auto with stock TBI system still in place. I actually need to verify 727 vs 904. Can I tell by the pan shape or just the rail numbers? Anywho, I want to take the mild 360 that I pulled from my sig car, and put it in the truck with a carb. What are the parts needed and plan that I should follow to get this complete? I have the complete motor with a good functioning Eddy 600, a stock ignition setup (dizzy, orange box etc...) I know I need a truck 360 oil pan, I can use spacers on the drivers side motormount to make them work. I'll need the aftermarket flexplate in order to run the converter thats already on the trans. A fuel pressure regulator to protect the carb from the trucks electric fuel pump. Anything else I need to look at. Anything that I need to do as it pertains to the trucks computer? Any help is appreciated roe

Roe, does it have a voltage regulator on the firewall? if not you can splice into the harness to add it. same with the intake fuel pump, you can splice it to run with key and use regulator/return line for the carb. it keeps the under hood harness intact and looking un molested/hacked up that way. my self, I always get a 82-86 wire harness untape it,remove what I don't need and retape it. not that hard to swap out the complete wire harness underhood /indash. just taped my 86 harness back up for the 82w350 next.

Ok, im gonna see if I can overcome my fear of electrical, maybe even develop a new skill. Going to start looking for an '86 @ the j/y to pull the underhood and under dash harnesses from to swap over to myt ruck. Wish me luck roe

I have seen several trucks running around with car pans on them, even pulled one to swap an oil pump one time and it went in and out with no problem. It might should be swapped but you do not need to swap it.
As for the trans, it should most likely be an A-500 or 518. Very few TBI motors ever got a 3 speed.

I will get you some pics of my harness spred out so you can see it and use for reference.
only part I ever have trouble with is the door switch..getting them out with out cutting the wire is my headache. so I cut and leave a pigtail to splice them back together.

Thanks a lot for the offer on the pics, that will help me a bunch.
I checked and the trans is a 904. Not sure if its original or not.
