BS. I am surprised that you of all people have that position given what you want to do with your GTX. This is an open class street car race and should be a blast to run in / watch. My car fits perfectly.
Makes me think you're just pissed that you will be "working" instead of playing.
Let's hope the weather is good and the 'naders stay away.
What the hell are you talking about. I could care less what they do. And my car will be a RACE CAR and I will have no reason to run it in a "street driven car" class.........but be assured, without the cruise stipulation, SOMEBODY will, because they will think it will be easy for them to win...........What is so hard for you to grasp here. If you are going to call this a class for "street driven" cars........make em prove it. Otherwise it is just another race car class.

Without a cruise, you'll have a bunch of race cars filling up the class. Happens a lot around here. Once had a mustang w/ a big cube sb chevy on alcohol, no radiator, no alternator, etc. Even though the cruise really doesn't prove much, it still scares off most of the race cars in disguise.
FWIW...around here there's a few cars that regularly run bottom 5s in the 1/8 that can drive all day w/ no problem. One has supposedly been 4.90s. These classes are dominated by fox mustangs w/ turbo GM LS engines.
CHIP '70 hemicuda, 575" Hemi, 727, Dana 60 '69 road runner, 440-6, 18 spline 4 speed, Dana 60 '71 Demon, 340, low gear 904, 8.75 '73 Chrysler New Yorker, 440, 727, 8.75 '90 Chevy 454SS Silverado, 476" BBC, TH400, 14 bolt '06 GMC 2500HD LBZ Duramax

Well my car has tags, insurance, the lights mostly work and if I feel like driving it down the road to fetch some beer I can do so. It is not a DD, fuel is expensive, creature comforts besides the response to mashing the gas pedal and the sound of the motor are non-existent. But instead of the car sitting and waiting for me to trailer it to the track I can get out on nice days and enjoy it. And there is a race class for it coming up. Cheap to enter, so far 100% payback (not that I will be seeing any of the payout), at a great race too. If it weren't for my concern of keeping my parking place while I am in the lanes I would drive the car to the race and back home. IMO a lot better than the "street" class that they will have at Memphis later this month IMO. A guy from all the way up in Delaware won that last year. http://www.outlawstreetcarreunion.us/ultra-street---rules-regulations-payout.html

I don't think you understand. Just because it has "STREET" in the name of the class does not mean they are street cars.
One day I will have something cool here.

I say drive it to the track, just put your lawn chair and beer in your spot while you,re racing, no need to trailor a street car esp if you live that close http://www.outlawstreetcarreunion.us/ultra-street---rules-regulations-payout.html

I like the lawn chair idea. So nobody wants to come out and play KOS around here and support the class? Yeah, real street (sorta, we'll see how the self-teching goes), not Memphis street. As a sign of just how serious the promoter is about making the HSV radial race a big deal, they are going to bring in the traction twins to prep the track and have a test session next Wednesday, wx permitting. I think the idea is to get some of the cars that will be running at Memphis to see how well the HSV track works. I may have to skip out of work to watch... https://www.facebook.com/HuntsvilleDragwayhttps://www.facebook.com/HuntsvilleDragway
