Ballast resistor gets hot...proven hot enough to melt skin. What should this tell me (besides not to touch it)? Putting Electronic ignition in a 65 coronet, chrome ignition box, ballast resistor is 1.25 ohms. Thanks
Ballast resistors(the Mopar ones) will burn you.. they get real hot

Also do not touch the positive primary terminal of an MSD Blaster 2 coil with an AL7 box with a wrench while grounding yourself to the vehicle while the engine is running. As I laid on the floor twitching I thought it was the last thing I would ever do before dying.
Fortunately I lived to nearly do the same thing to myself with a camera flash capacitor 2 weeks later.

Before I mount one , I come to my senses , buy an MSD and throw the resistor in the trash.
See my MSD warning above.
