It looks to be a next step up in the evolution of the Dana 60 from truck rear to a real purpose built race rear. You can mount a pinion snubber to the case (only God knows why you would though), the axle tubes are bolted in place, the backlash is adjustable like the cast iron S60 and the weight savings puts it right there with the 9" Ford without it's weakness. If I was building a Cadillac bracket beast and had very deep pockets, I would go for it Fortunately, my truck Dana is already built and the budget is under control

So if the axle tubes are aluminum, who would make a coil over bracket in aluminum instead of steel to weld to the housing?
according to the description the tubes are steel

You would be taking an expense gamble. Why not go with a tried and true Strange 9" aluminum center and fabbed housing. Might be lighter, certainly cheaper. My and worth every penny.

correct me if i'm wrong. the strange 60 tubes are thinner! i used a truck rear and narrowed it, has that extra rib. after twisting and destroying a 8 3/4 rear, dana would be the only way. Has anyone purchased one?

I don't like the way the tubes are bolted to the center section. For that kind of money, you could buy one heck of a nice 9" sheet metal rear axle assembly.

I like it, except one detail, I'm uneasy about the axle tube retention solution, not sure how robust and what power limits those bolts will handle. It says 9 3/8", is that per tube? I couldn't make out in pics.
I have an old Dana 60 Magnesium housing, it has 8? 1/2" studs on a 5"? BC retaining its axle tubes, likely far tougher then 3/8" on an effectively 3"? circle.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
