Yes, you know from experience. Going great down here. Just about ready to fire up my 70. Have not restored the hose I have left so I hope it does not leak! I have not seen another one for sale since.

I have a 70 GTX with AC. Currently not working so I want to remove the compressor until such time that I get around to replacing the compressor. When I take the compressor off will I need to change some pulleys for the power steering and alternator? Thank you, Joe
power steering won't cange as it doesn't run on the compressor , and there isn't a power steering pulley for A/c vs. non A/C , the only thing you would need to figure out is the altenator , but you can change the water pump pulley to the non AC and you should be able to run a belt with the existing lower pulley.
Ok thanks. I will get a non ac water pump pulley. And I am not going to sell the parts. Just keep them for when I get a new compressor.

If you plan on replacing the compressor in the future why not just leave it there? When the A/C is off the compressor just acts as an idler pulley.

Taking off because it is big and tired of the looks of it.

I don't think the ac alt pulley and lower 4 groove pulley will line up with the single non ac pulley.
Correct , they won't

taking the compressor off and just replace the water pump pulley isnt enough.
To get everything to line up. yo have to replace the alternator brackets and spacers. upper AND lower pulleys.
You are right , I gave the OP the benifit of the doubt that when he took off the compressor and saw tha tthe altenator mounting point was gone that he would know he needed the non A/C Alt. mounting brackets.
I have run the dual pulley alt on a non A/C setup and don't remember throwing belts , but I will admit I haven't used the big ugly lower pulley.
But I have pulled motors from the junk yard that had the 4 groove pulley on them and didn't have the A/C setups still in place runing non A/C water pump and alt. setup ????
but you do this more than me ...
