I want to run at least 4.80 to 4.70s with my car. It is a 240in single shock swing arm dragster. My current motor is a 500in rb motor with out of the box 440-1's on alky and indy block, 13.2 compression. It has run a 5.601 in really good air and typically 5.72-5.75 in my 2660lb door car. Im thinking my dragster weighs around 1850 race cars as it is now with a bbc motor in it. It's a 525 with pro comp heads and a gm truck block its ran a 4.92.

What will the car run just by putting my current combo in it?

Can i get to where i want to go with taking my motor to a 572 or 588? I would raise the compression, have the heads ported and bigger valves put in the heads i have now. untill i can buy some bigger heads.

Thanks,
Chris

If you put the car engine in the dragster you will
need about 200hp more.... if thats what I think your
trying to do(car engine in dragster)

FWIW our Racetech was running low 5.o's(7.90's) at about 1870 with a 557" CNC -1 combo here in Vegas. Was a pretty basic combo til it blew up Motor going in will be a 446 with -1 heads. Will let you know how that one runs.

I have thought of the pro charged deal. Would probably go with a f1-x rather then the f2. The f1-x is a little more adjustable then the f2 from what i can see from buddies cars. I have a buddy with a f2 on a 565 and runs low 4.30's turned all the way down Then a buddy with a 540 with a f1-x that runs 4.4's on a easy tune and can turn it down more if needed. It also went a 4.27 with the same settings down in the carolina's in better air.

Its only money, i just need to make more of it to do so lol

B1 originals fully ported, biggish cam, 572 CI, 15-1 compression, and hold on. If it's built right it should make 1000+ and go 4.60's-4.70's at sea level all day long at 7500 RPM.

my 499 with 325cc -1 in my 1850lb undercover went 5.00 to 5.10

just put my 557 world aluminum block with the same heads on and a bigger cam is going 4.78-79 in fall air in ky. havent weighed it but it should weigh 1750 now. only have 35 passes on it so far, it may have a little more in it with some tune but i doubt much.

hope this helps

Oh, I'm pretty sure 572-13's would get the same result if you talk to Todd Marsh. He's done some stout builds with them.

FWIW what I posted above was in Vegas at altitude. SO figure .2 quicker at sea level at least. We have no barometer up here.

wondering what port size in your heads or maybe the cam is better than mine for it to be quicker with less motor
