burdar Owen's Dad Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 7,365 Iowa	My brother had two of them. He liked them a lot. I don't believe they are Mitsubishi. The 2.4 in the 4-door Stratus is a Chrysler and the 2.4 in the 2-door is a Mitsubishi. The 2-door is just a stretched Eclipse.

T2R9 master Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 2,754 Conway, SC	i have 2 of them. my 98 Stratus has 170k and still runs great. Timing belt and water pump at 100k plus normal maintenance is all I have done to it. My wife's 06 Sebring is at 46k now no problems.

I think the 2.4 has a little more engine noise than the 2.7 V6 my Stratus, but not annoying. If you are 6' 7", there might not be a lot of leg room.

DaytonaTurbo Too Many Posts Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 21,318 Manitoba, Canada	The 2dr stratus is a reskinned mitsubishi eclipse. The 2.4 in the 2dr is a mitsu motor and has nothing in common with the chrysler 2.4. Same goes with the trans, mitsu not mopar.

But if you want to go all out, the mitsu 2.4/5sp combo has the most performance potential I think.

Don't know for sure about an 04 but my 97 Avenger the 2.0 liter 4cyl was a Chrysler motor, it was not the same as the 2.0 used in the Eclipse and the 2.5l v6 was Mitsdubishi. Also the automatic tranny was a Chrysler item regrdless of which motor you had. I have a 02 R/T and used to go to http://www.2gstratus.org all the time. Check out that site. You'll find out anything you want to know about them.
