We have a US Tool's K-frame & body dolly set. Worked sweet!

Would like to see pics of one used on an install with the front only being raised on the car (without a 4 post lift).

It's seems a little high for that. I know it's that way to clear the drooping suspension. But some tie the suspension up to get everything a little lower.

How low does the Trans and K-member support go?

P.S. Welcome Keith!

They work fine, especially if using the US Cartool frame lift setup (someone else's pics here) . The only concern would be ceiling clearance, I do mine in the driveway.

You can make your own or buy one done. This kit costs $199.00 and is very well made

How is the K-frame held on the stand. Any pics on how it is mounted?
Is there an instruction sheet how to mount it?

Very simple, two long bolts with larger flat washers come from the bottom and up through the K-member through the factory drain holes and bolt it on. I used thin rubber "washers" under the steel washers on both sides to protect the paint. You don't need to over tighten the bolts, just snug is good enough.

The holes i see from the bottom don't go all the way through.

On your style you can just rest the pegs from the bottom into the drain holes you have and it will sit in place once you have the trans supported.

The Road Runner I posted above only had the lower holes in the K frame. Held everything nice and securely while being able to easily position it. While the frame jig worked nicely, the body dolly was a bit clunky with the hard wheels on rough pavement though. Rubber or inflatable would be ideal. Transporting the shell from the metal shop to paint to assembly always shook out a little more dust from the bowels….. but our driveway is a bit rough. The paint shop loved it…..

Build your own, $60 of steel, I think less than $20 for the front mount.

Straps holding the craddle in place, 69 Camaro core support, 69 Camaro aluminum radiator, Cuda lower hose, 79 PW upper hose, switchs and gauges. All stuff I just had laying around the shop, wala engine run stand with no expense. OK, so I'm cheap.

I agree, we could have made one for less than what was paid for the unit. Although it does work well and is well made…..

BTW: Nice cradle you fabled up.

I agree, none of these mail order solutions are for everyone, especially guys who have the time, materials, a decent work space, some skill, and a welder. However, convenience has it's price, and the US Cartool products are very nice. Pick your poison.
