Would you be able to take a stock B body K, make some Hemi mounts so the engine would be 1 inch lower and your fabbing like above? I need some under hood clearance ? Thanks.

Yes you can trim the k-frame that much for superstock. I've heard questions from two of the head NHRA SS tech guys about the center piece being removed, so we leave ours "stock appearing", or whatever the customer wants. We also offer lightened strut rods and centerlinks for any mopar, offer roller bearing idler arms, and our patented quick release drag link bushings for applications where the centerlink runs through the pan. Fred, Yes its legal to trim and notch the k frame for NHRA S/S like i posted earlier, take a closer look at some of the fastest Legal SS/A cars

K frames can be done in different styles, from mild to wild. depends what the customer wants

not sure how a 6 cyl. k frame would be any lighter
all k members are the same (6 cyl. or V8), just different motor mount configurations.

I think he means buying an 8 cylinder vs a 6 for initial cost, or not cutting up my original. Thanks.

Awesome work Bondo !

Just wondering how low you can drop a BB wedge with the factory mounts. Is a 3 or 4in drop possible ?

Thanks, Ron

You can put a motor anywhere you want it, but you have to remember to keep a workable crank centerline to the ground number. Get it too low and the car will never work, depending on suspension, power and how the rest of the car is setup. With the crank C/L low, you will need lots of power and a very good working car to stick the tire.

Very nice looking work Bob. Lots of time involved. Can you tell us the thickness of the plates where the 1 5/8" chromoly tube attaches to the K-frame? I'm thinking this is where the weakest link is?
