AZ_A12_BEE OP I Live Here Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 18,575 Dreaming of the 808	After liberal amounts of penetration oil I got my cowl vent moving freely with the under dash handle, my question is it looks like a pretty easy install of replacing the handle with an electric solenoid to open and close it. I Personally I don't see why would someone spend money and time on this and add complexity to a mechanism that already has a very simple and effective means to operate it. but, if you like "bells and whistles" by all means go for it. Also I only need about 2-3 inches of travel. Ron Podsiadly,...	way back about 25 years ago I made the cowl vent on my wifes car open with a rear wiper motor that I got from the junk yard. can't till you what car it came from, I picked up a bunch of them at the time and used one. i took it apart and welded a rod to the arm inside and mounted it under the vent. BTW, did you try the oil on the WS screws in your other post? I'd soak the frame in some Evaporust, then penetrating oil before applying heat.
