Has anyone here used a Comp Cam KD516 5/16" pushrod cutter. I made a slide hammer slug and removed the cups from mt 7821 5/16" pushrods so I can shorten them but when I checked the shank section it measures .205 and the pilot is .197 but the KD516 tool shows these sizes (.169 bore, .157 pilot)

I'm confused on these size differences

When I was getting my engine assembled by a race oriented machine shop, I asked if they used "cut to fit" pushrods. "No we order them". If you know the length you need, Comp, Summit or others likely has a stock length that will work. Or Smith Brothers can make a set in a couple of days to whatever length you need. Summit brand "order to length" looks like it starts at $60. Comp is higher. May be a better option vs modifying the ones you have.
