Went to Tulsa today for the Mopars at the Park. Weather wasn't too bad. Temp was mid to upper 50's and the wind was out of the N/NW at about 10 to 15 mph. The car weighs 2550 with me in it. I'm still not comfortable with it.

The run: 60'=1.417 330'=4.123 1/8=6.367 mph=108.84
1/4=9.994 mph=138.47

I'm relieved to get the 9 sec pass. I think if should 60' better. The mph seems pretty good to me at that et. Any comments? Jim

Those are about the numbers I've been running in the good air.
Same 60' a bit quicker in the 1/8 and same 1/4 ET but only 133 MPH so your really making steam on the top end. At 138 I think you have quite a bit of ET improvement left.

Fantastic MPH for that ET. Heck my 9.91 pass was only 131 mph but with my small 550 lift solid cam and 4:88 gears my engine (408) is running out of snuff for the last 300 plus feet.

I'm thinking the reason for the big MPH. Is the A/D of the body. Car didn't spin the tires when it left. According to a friend observing the run. So where do I start looking for 60' ET.

That 60' is WAY off. Was the cam degreed in as the numbers look almost like the cam is retarded. That's a lot bigger cam than mine especially when your do the 1.6 rocker calculation.

Nice new bests. That car with its MPH is a strong 9.75 car

I agree that the 60 doesn't match the MPH. It should be around a 1.34/5 or so.

Also your picking up 30 MPH on the second half, that's excellent. The lost 670 could be in the carbs transition circuit or it could be a cam timing issue. Since you not spinning the tires Id start there.

A small block in a light weight car is my favorite package, so easy to work on too. What cubic inch is the motor?

John, the cam is in at 106*.

Sport440, I only got one run yesterday as the radiator got damaged. I do believe it will 60' better with more tuning.

ProSport, I have always raced A & B bodies. This thing is like a go cart compared to them. Feel like my azz is dragging the ground.

Id like to know what CI your at too. With a 11.2 comp and a small block and big heads , the 60,s will be soft with the cam installed @ 106 ICL Depending on your CI, you might want to install that cam at about a 100 to 102 ICL.IMO

Do you have a pic of the car to share?

Also, Im in agreement with you. You just have one Single run so far. I would tune away on it first as it is, and get a lot more runs on it and see what you get. If tuning doesn't bring the 60 ft. around, then maybe consider changing the cam timing.
