The casting line on the wrist pin throws will tell you, if it has a wide line where it looks ground on its a forged unit.... a thin line is a cast unit wrist pin throws(first one and last one)

times have changed, I remember when the wrist pin was on the piston end of the conecting rod.

While I'm sure Mr. P-Body knows what he's talking about, I was thrown by that as well.... never heard of wrist-pins on a crank (???) "Wrist pin" is a term that is synomymos with "piston pin", isn't it?
Either way, I always have seen cast cranks as having very sharp, square edges, while forged cranks have more rounded edges.
