1. you will need to en large the shock bolt hole on the LCA, its only 7/16 needs to be 1/2 for the coil over bearing end and make a few 1/8 spacers to take up the extra room. 2. press out your LCA pivot shafts and machine a 3/8 x 24 thread into the back of them, that way you can retain the LCA from not wanting to pull loose from the pivot shaft, only the bushing is holding it on.locite it on with a washer to retain it. 3. brace the shock towers, it will want to twist the top of the frame rails in towards the motor and break the spot welds in the front frame rail in time. heres a pic of a new set of stock lower pivot shafts with a 3/8 x 24 thread in the back of them and a set of upper billet mounts heading Deigo Teds way i need the machine the spacers up for him yet Bondo

Right here. Coil Over Conversion
Not to hi-jack, but do you guys think this is enough reinforcement for the uppers?
I don't know if I'm going to end up with the coil over deal or not, but before the car gets painted I want to make sure what I have would work...

Do you sell the aluminum piece that replaces the bottom rubber/poly bushing on the top shock mount?

i turn them on the lathe out of 6061, the urethane bushing that comes with the shocks will not hold the weight when converted to coil over. they are fine for using them as a stock style front shock. I make them as needed, but if you need a set i can tool some up

Yes, i put a ton of street miles on 340Ricks challenger this past summer (i think i put more miles on his car than he did in the past 10 years ) with my setup on it and the same coil overs with #250 springs the lighter spring seems to work well with me adding more per load to them for better reaction from the suspension. i can get you awesome deals on AFco products Bondo

The part you see welded is the adjuster that is no longer used once the torsion bar is eliminated. The weld just keeps what's left of the adjuster from moving around. I have whacked them off as close as possible then welded just for cosmetic purposes. Has nothing to do with the movement of the LCA.
Mike Gray
I think the confusion lies with the bolt and big washer that connects the LCA to the pivot pin. Once the adjuster is welded to the LCA and the pivot is bolted to both the LCA and the K-member it doesn't look like it should move.
It looks like Duster Dave used a nylon or teflon washer to allow the LCA to rotate up and down a little easier. It looks like that would free up some of the movement.
