Rear spring numbers are 3400048 - it is in each bottom leaf.
54 shocks were used on 340 4-bbl Challengers also. I have not heard of them being used on C-bodies?
Thanks Barry. So T/As got regular 340 rear shocks and not the longer ones from a C body? Thanks again.

The spring mounts came up back in 2003, so I looked under several AARs & T/As that year. There were two different spring mounts used in real life, not sure why. There is also a handwritten document from someone inside the program that says Quote:
Rear Spring 340048 with "C" body spring plates
I will look for other references to it as time allows, thanks for the book Frank!

trans am cars used the lower shock brackets from a b-body to help compensate for the raised rear
I could not find any different lower shock brackets in the 1970-71 Master Parts catalog for B or C bodies?

The use of the b-body spring plate was to allow the 054 shocks to still work. Chrysler did this to compensate for the different arch in the springs and allow the 054 shocks to still work.
