Wondering this, when the suspension is all in, and when the trans is in and in its mount and torqued, what do you do with the new torsion bars just prior to engine going in, rather, do you crank the adjusting bolt in half way up - thereby rasining front end height.

The engine will obviously add a load to front end once in the bay - which should immediately drop front end height some once installed? I understand how after engine is in you can adjust the front end height, but what should the torsion bars be doing, at first they start out with no real load and adjusting bolt in a turn or two. Yes? Thanks men!

Yes you can and should crank them up prior to engine install.

If you have rubber bushings in them you should leave the pivots nuts loose so the shafts can turn till you have your final ride height set then torque them to speck , that way you don't load the rubber causing it to tear prematurely. Keep the uppers loose enough to allow then to move with your adjustment too.

Thanks JohnRR - for your time and interest, you've been one of my heroes here and for a long time now.

Can I ask, should the 1970 stlye torsion bar adjusting bolts both be cranked in half way - or even more - maybe 3/4 all the way in?
Got both adjusting bolts nearly half way in now and the car definitely raised up - for more trans clearance to trans tunnel...
