MOBodyman OP super stock Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 1,018 Missouri	I have 50,xxx miles on my truck. They tell me I should have put new plugs in it at 30k. Should I just go with the original type or is there something better? I don't mind changing at 50k but 30k doesn't seem like very many miles on a set of plugs. Dallas 2012 Rallye Redline Challenger, 1st new car! 2010 Ram 1500 4wd HEMI-hauler 2014 Dodge Dart-gas saver 4 projects and a bunch of parts cars, losing interest since buying the Challenger lol 1969 Dodge Coronet 500-'gonna fix 'er up someday!'

Devil I Live Here Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 10,498 Chicago, Illinois	The 09+ Hemi's require stock plugs. They are made for Dodge by NGK and have a unique taper. Any other plugs will in the long run end up giving you error codes. I do them in my 09 Challenger R/T every 30k-ish and it is never an issue. No problems getting them out or getting access to them. Just make sure the plugs are all gapped correctly, as I usually get a few that are too small from shipping.

I took it to the dealer. The local parts store didn't have a set in stock and I was afraid I might run into something I couldn't resolve. They let it cool down for 1 1/2 hours. It then took about an hour to get it done. It turned 52k miles on the way home.
