What about getting yours ported, I'm running CNC'd Eddys. Best ET in my sig.

Not many choices. The indybrock they now call the ta head is a good choice. And I don't care what anyone says they will out perform a ported standard edelbrock.
But value per dollar still points to just porting your existing heads.
There is also the mopar super commando. But I don't know how easy you can find them.

Someone did a set of Pro Comps that imo will blow the eddy head out the water.
Material ( aluminum ) was even better with more meat to take out.

I heard results from just a procomp cnc head that impressed me.... In other words, with just the procomp " factory" cnc job.

Uh on, now you're going to get the haters in here...DUCK!!

Back on point: Where would I find such data?? I'd really be interested to see #'s from flow testing that head.

Can you post the CNC flow number from the ProComp CNC head?

It's not a secret or anything.... Lol.
A member here in a full weight bench seat A body went 10.50's at Quaker( which would be 10.30's anywhere else) with a 9.5 to 1 compression 4 inch motor.
I found that extremely impressive for a first outing.
If I remember the heads peaked at 288 ish intake. Don't know any other numbers.

if i was spending the money, it would be W9's all the way

http://www.mopar.com/assets/pdf/performance/catalog/Small_Block.pdf

just call shady dell have them ported / prepped

yes you will have to change headers/intake but so what, your results will be way better than what you can do with standard ports.

i wonder how much large port heads would speed you up in the 1/4?

Some Indy 360-2 oval ports, have both exhaust patterns on them. Brett Miller on here did the set of pro comps that went 10.50s. He has a cnc program for them now.
If you go w9 route he has a cnc program for them also. I have been 9.40s on motor and 8.57@162 on spray with his w9 heads.

No the set I am talking about are only cnc'ed by pro comp. the set you are talking about Brett doing haven't been used yet. Those are going on a higher compression, more max effort motor.

And those numbers "blow the Eddy's out of the water"???

I know flow benches are different but my hand ported Eddy's flowed 265 at .550. My cam is only a .520 lift so I wasn't interested in higher lift numbes.

W9 and Indy are NOT stock exhaust and tti 1 5/8 headers wont fit which are stock style.
A few professional cylinder head guys said pro comp is a better casting and in Maz effort form will get you a better all around head.Pro Comp head max effort or even middle grade will get you nice hp without leaks etc etc.

Hi Ian.....

My understanding is the motor is in a Dart that is all steel except the hood, with bench seat.
60 over 340 block 1/2 filled, small roller, 4 inch crank, and cnc pro comp heads. Compression is 9.5 to 1. Quaker is about 2 tents slower than other tracks, so , IMO, running 10.30's at a "normal" track with no compression and not having a light car is real impressive.
The heads used don't have the pushrods moved over, just a cnc on a "stock" pro comp head. Maybe someone did that cnc other than pro comp, I don't know/ forgot to ask....But I do know these aren't the " trick" head Brett is working his magic on. That set of heads hasn't been put on a motor yet.

Just get your heads ported. My car has ported Edelbrocks, 10.8:1 compression and a small street roller....runs mid 10's (see times in sig)....oh and I forgot to add, and a little 750dp ...lol.
