Dougs and TTi header do not hang low...

I have Doug's on a smallblock in a 71 b body with power steering and column shift auto. Fit is perfect and they don't hang low. Didn't have to remove any steering linkage to get them in. Thick guage tubing and flanges. Quality item.

Not necessarily when you want to go this low... I saw a few that had the front end a little higher and they only had around 4" to the ground.

Pay alitle attention when googling and you will find that the isue with the steering column seems to be on a early A-body those are real narrow and i think they would be ok on -67 and newer A bodys and probably everything else.

Its good to see another header offering where the tubes do not route so low! The price is nice too at $355. So smallblock mopar folks have some good $$ options. We can get cheapies that hang low (made of thin steel as well) for under $180. The Sandersons offer thick steel and ground clearance for $350 (yes small tubes and raw steel) From there Dougs are $460- to $630 Raw vs coated. Then the TTIs at near $800 and the super nice Schumachers also near $800. Right now with my intended use and power output I like the Sanderson shorties. When a header is made form heavy duty steel I noticed even high heat spray can paint holds up very well on them. On the typical cheapy super thin Black Jack type headers the paint- as well as the thin steel were cooked and flaky rusted within months.
Keep old mopars alive.

The Dougs are a good bargain and fit well, as do the TTI's, but at a price. I have the TTI's, but my car's stance is a bit high as I live in Queens, N.Y….. where the roads are shot. But ground clearance wouldn't be an issue as they fit tight against the undercarriage.
Now, if your going TTI's with a 4 speed w/ scatter shield, break out your air saw….and have a torch handy to massage your Z bar.
