Hi,
I am wanting to replace the manual valve body with a fully automatic one. Will this one (it came out of a 1974 transmission but don't know if it's a 1974 VB) work in my 1967 transmission?

Also, it appears the stop on the throttle lever is missing. However, I found a picture in the Munroe book that shows the same missing stop on the throttle lever (see red arrow). Is this some type of modification and/or can I run it this way?

Finally, does it look like the line pressure adjusting screw has been adjusted for max pressure? Should it be readjusted?
Thanks in advance.

First, do you know if the governor was removed when the MVB was installed? If so, it'll need to be replaced before installing an auto VB.

The '74 isn't an ideal swap into a '67, lots of fluid circuit changes were made starting in '74.

The stop tabs have definitely been removed, they're needed.

On the pressure regulator, measure from the VB side of the steel spring retainer to the casting...should be in the 1 1/4" to 1 1/8" range.

Thanks for the info. No, unfortunately I don't know if the governor was removed. I didn't even think of that one. :-( What does the stop tab do?
This is a great site. Thanks again for the help.
Regards,

The stop tab on the cam sets the forward limit of the external TP lever and its linkage.
