Take a look at the picture. What is the 1/8" hole that is in line with the oil groove behind the cam timing gear? I checked a 440 and 383 block I have and there isn't a hole on them. This is new aftermarket hemi block. I think that is in the casting boss that houses the oil pump drive shaft.

That is a oil drain back hole, some of the OEM early blocks had them also, most of them didn't

I was worried is was a pressurized hole. I could see any oil pressure passages near it. But I wanted to make sure I didn't have to drill and tap the hole and add a plug.
