Where are you in Mn. ? There is a place in Bloomington called " Headwerx " or something like that.......Earlier this week , I spoke to the guy about getting a set of Eddies done for another deal and he was pretty short with me. Nice clean shop , but no flow #'s even though he claimed he had done small block MoPar Eddies in the past. I used Brian at R&R in Spring Lake Park for my W-9's and was very happy with the work and the price. He is very good........and pretty busy. Another real Ace and solid MoPar guy is Ron Flood ( Cedar Machine ) and he is up around North Branch. There are some quality shops in the state and some I wouldn't let work on my lawn mower.

I am wondering what's the average cost is for getting a set of w2 heads ported. I was at my local machineshop today dropping off a 383bb and he's said for a competition 5 angle valve job was $190 and to port a set of w2 to 310-325cfm would cost me around $500 and $300 for a intake.. is that a good deal?
Unless he has done sets of W-2s theres now way I would try to get 325 of of them... core shift and he will be through them... I have 310 out of mine and I did go through the intake to the push rod.. had to tube them just the other week because the epoxy let go.. but the price is great

X2. Is this guy who can take these heads successfully out to the high end of their potential really going to port iron for $10/hr.? Like some have mentioned, the good shops are BUSY. Is he?

In my opinion with 310-325 being at the extreme end of a w2's capabilities I don't know how someone could even claim that. Most of the casting won't even go there. There would be at least a 50-50 chance in the effort to port that much they would ruin them. The other thought is his numbers are inflated. The bench is calibrated wrong on purpose to get what every one wants.
I have never heard of 325 out of W-2s.. mine are actually 308 and that was going through the pinch but 314 was the most I have heard of on a real bench that has a good cal.. I flowed mine at work(Chrysler Cyd head lab) and did everything I could with the help of the pro there in the lab(old friend of mine) just to get what I did and still had to tube the intakes.. if that guy can claim a REAL 325... his bench is happy or he is BSing

The shady dell website shows a flow spec of 324.3 at .650 lift. But I'm pretty sure he's done more than just a few sets of W2s. I dont see anyone spending the required amount of time to reach 325 for $500. Anyone out there have a flow sheet for the CNC ported W2s from Modern Cylinder Head? Seems like I've heard they have a CNC program for them?

I'm sure than Ryan found a good set to get 324 but with shift its gonna be a issue... I will take 310 for sure and keep them in one piece... if I want more I'll get another set of heads and not W-2s

I've got a set of the newest W2s, the guy that I use for porting took a look at them and couldn't believe how much core shift there is.

I have 2 sets.. both econo but one set with long valves and standard.. the long valve set has a decent amount of shift the standard is decent... the long valve set is what I with through

I have a set that Jeff did several years back. I tried to post the Word doc file, but it doesn't work here. They flowed 321@.650" on the intakes, 227.0@.700" w/o tube, 264.1@.700" with the tube on the exhaust.
