Anyone used / using a Pro-Systems 4150 carb? What size (rated CFM and / or venturi & butterfly dimensions)? What booster config? Any street use? How does it run? What did it replace? Any quantifiable gains from what it replaced on the track or dyno?

I have used 3 carbs from Patrick at Pro Sytems, They work great and Patrick is truly a professional. You can't go wrong.

I'm currently using one of their 1000hp carbs. Runs great but I'm going to put the lm-2 on it this year to try to see if there are any gains to be had. Great carb

Both the 4150 and the 4500 that I had him build, worked fantastic. Both came out of the box - ready to run. All I had to do was set the idle. He even had the jetting so close it was scary. The 4150 (950 or 1000 cfm) did not replace anything, it was on a new engine build. That carb went 9.40's @ 140 in the Daytona. Impeccable street manners as well. The 4500 went on in place of the 4150 just to see if it wanted more carb. I will never know as the engine expired on the first pass with it on.

I truly don't believe you will find a better, more professional carb shop.

When it comes to custom carbs, there are alot of good people and good products.I have used Patrick also on a big motor carb, and it worked great and he has great customer service..

But,if you want a double throw down carb call Steve at PRC or Dale Cubic at CFM...I have used PRC the last few years and it is the best carb I have ever had.Dale at CFM is building me a big bore carb right now...

A good friend of mine has one on a 500 cu in chevy in a heavy street car. He thinks that it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I just put one on my car.
The only thing I have done with mine is back it outside put the 727 in 2nd gear and hit it from a dead idle. The 325/50/15 drag radials did not stand a chance, the trans went though firt gear so fast i had to jack the car up after and make sure I still had first gear.

I have used a few of Patricks carbs. His customer service is second to none. All the carbs I have used form him were very good performers. I am currently running a Gary Williams Dominator.

Sounds like Patrick James has quite a following. It would have been nice to hear some real "before" and "after" data, though.

In the mean time, I'm going to try and tune a little more streetability into my current carb... maybe even pick up a wide-band sensor setup. What's on the car now runs hard and consistent at the track, but could drive a bit cleaner down low.

Im gonna try and get some real world comparisons. I bought a Pro Systems 1000 cfm 4150 carb from him and I also have a Demon 1000 cfm drag race series carb that was on the car before hand. I'm gonna go to the track with both carbs and try them both on the same day and see if there is any difference. Im gonna bring my jet kit with me and make sure they are both jetted correctly. So far is seems to run great, but I dont know if it actually is any faster or not. Ill post the results when I get to try them both out.

Camshaft and timing will play a big part in how your car performs "down low". The 1000 cfm 4150 that I had Patrick build for me has very nice, clean drive ability on the street, and that was with a 700 lift roller.

Brad, if you want to try mine out (1000hp), let me know.

440Jim tried it on his Dart back when he had the 470 and he picked up close to a 10th on a (at the time) high 9/low 10 car, wish he took more time to tune with it, I think (IIRC based on his incrementals) there was potentially more in it.

Patrick is top notch!

It would be interesting to see how your 1000 HP car worked on my car. The tracks 'round here are closed for the year, so it's possible you'll be hearing from me in the spring time.

FWIW, I was at the track that day Jim tested your carb and he tested mine, too. My Claw, IIRC, basically split the difference in ET & MPH between the 950 HP he was running at the time and your carb.
