hello , I`m picking up my first 572 cubic inch motor at the nats this year. Its a used motor. I`m going to take it to my motor guy and go through it. the plan is to add some turbos to it. LOL Is anyone running this type of set up? if so what are your motor specs? compression ,cam , ect... is it true that for every 15 psi of boost your compression go's up 1 point? thanks, Mike

Why turbo such a big motor? That makes no sense to me.

Based on your questions, and not to be mean, but you need to do a lot of research and get educated on turbo setups.
First and most importantly, what are your goals? Once we know that, we can suggest, cubic inch, heads, cam, compression, internal engine parts, turbo sizing, etc.

A twin turbo intercooled 572 C.I. pump gas wedge motor can make north of 2000 HP+ How much HP can your car handle I hope your new used motor is in good shape, maybe needing a freshen only How fast(actually) have you been in a car Be careful, first and formost

If you are getting a good deal on the engine & turbo's then by all means build it.With the twin turbos I would run a tunnel ram,do it while you have the chance because you may never find another good deal to do it in the future. You can start off running it mild & as you upgrade your car you can keep adding Boost to it. PS if nothing else do it for the WOW factor!

Been running a turbo'd 572 for years in my street car. Don't need much boost to go fast and you don't wreck parts since your not running on the ragged edge.
What heads/compression etc does this 572 have? I can give you some direction if your thinking of doing it. 7's aren't too hard to get at 3500lbs on pump gas.
Switching to bigger heads and twins now but you can do some amazing things on nothing special for parts.

thanks guys. I will keep you posted.
The heads are 572-13 and the compression 14-1
I`m thinking I`ll have to lower the compression to 11-1 or 12-1.
What do you guys think?
Much lower then that, for what your trying to do. More like 8.5 to 9.5 max.

On my Super-Charged engine(which makes over a 1,000 Streetable RWH) my CR is 10.7-1 and I'm almost positive on the Turbo engines they stay at 10.7-1 also.I would talk with what they now call Tuners that work on the Super-Charged & Turbo engines. The Turbo & Super-Charged engines have come a long way in the last few years.

Mid high 9's for comp if your sticking to a pump gas type engine and 50+cc dish, 9.7:1 here.
Made 1550RWHP on 17 LBS with edelbrock Victor 440's. Since you have bigger heads you could be 1500rwhp on 13-14 lbs on pump gas with A/W intercooler.

I can safely comment that turbo apps making 1,000 rwhp on pump 91-93 gas are not using 10.7:1 compression ratio unless they are adding meth or something like that.

Also, the OP, must decide what fuel he will want to run, to finalize compression, or be prepared to adjust things otherwise, like stated above.
