Ferrous Mopar cylinder heads are cast iron, not steel.

I'm thinking a rail dragster could get into single digits pretty easily.

I bet there are plenty of door cars that have done it too.

I ran a best of 11.86 (real good air) with a 320 .533 lift mopar purple shaft HYD in a 3800 lb car with ported 906 was a real solid 12.0 to 12.1 car. Lash set so it lightly ticked setting adjustable pushrods is a PITA. Not sure if it was the heads or cam but liked 5800 to 6200 shifts best higher and it slowed down.

4.1 gear teamG intake 800 holley

11.13 with 3700# Challenger 496" Eddy RPM heads, XE295HL cam, 4.30 gear, 4200 stall shifting at 6000 and 6 pak carburetion.

Have now gone to an XTQ294 solid and has run 6.75 in the 1/8th ( about 10.60 or so in the 1/4).

Yeh... I was just putting my 2 cents worth in about the fact that steel heads are not usually the best way to go. Been there and done that. I had 452 steelies ported and they DID work good. The Eddy's smartened the engine right up.

Steel heads suck they flow poorly they tend to crack and so on. Oh happy days now we have lots of aluminum to pick from better performance way less fuel I have not run race gas since I went aluminum.
