I use to seal mine with a scoop plug when I hauled
on a open trailer.. you could make one out of foam
rubber to fit the opening

if you look hard you'll see one on my 6 pak. it's made of close cell foam that's been covered with a vinyl weatherproof covering. works great.

Carb hat and soft foam blocks wrapped in a thick plastic (bag or whatever) that fit fairly tightly into the scoop openings. Been all over including cross-country in rain & snow with that, and not a drop of water gets inside.

I used to use two of the aero-scoop plugs for my 6pak hood, plus I used a carb hat.

When i tow the street car it has an air filter on it.
The race car has a foam insert that goes in the scoop. It is painted to match the car.
