Picked up a set of nos Hemi plug wires # 3420881 from a former Plymouth service manager that had bought these new back in 1970. First question is the lack of a coil wire, did this need to be ordered as a separate part number? Second,3 of the wires are date coded 1Q 70 and the other 5 are dated 4Q 69, would you find date codes on an original car like this or would they all be the same date code. Just wondering if back in the day they just used what ever wires they had left to make up a set to sell over the counter as a replacement part. Just want to know if these would be correct if used on a oem judged car.

Yes.

NOS sets I've had included the coil wire, and it's unique, white lettering instead of yellow, and the boots are deep brick red.

They didn't always match but were typically close (1 quarter apart, etc.)

the majority of all the nos plug wire sets i have do have at least 2 different quarter dates, with hemis i have seen up to 4 different quarter dates, with 3 seeming to be the most common

and yes as scott said, the coil wires are included and have white lettering

if you get lucky theyll have 1 red boot too

Back in the day, could you order a coil wire that would be the same as the one that comes in the sets. Just wondering if I can find a nos coil wire by part number.
