Is there an easy way to remove the chrome trim around the headrests from a 69 B body?

It's held on by very strong glue that has crystallized. You can't even cut through it. I need something to dissolve it.

I can't recall if the trim is chrome over plastic, or metal.
If metal I would not hesitate using acetone. If you are not re-using the upholstry, cut it off and soak, then scrape it off with a bondo spreader ot wooden stick.
