At 120,000 the 5.9 timing chain cover appears to be leaking coolant. Of course this requires pulling the front end off the engine as well as the oil pan with the engine in the truck. This is a 4WD so the oil removal is the major concern. Any thoughts?

External coolant leak? Sure it isn't the weep hole in the water pump?
It takes gasoline to interest me.

My guess too also followed by the upper bypass hose, or t-stat gasket, or a pin hole in the heater hoses or rad hose, and lastly the cover and/or bolts got severly corroded causing a leak. I have either seen or experienced all the above EXCEPT the cover/bolts actually leaking
Hard to see in all those areas well, a pressure test might confirm it though. And as mentioned, no need to loosed or drop the pan, just don't forget to remove the front two pan bolts as they are held to the front cover.
Outcast Dodge guy.

5.9 magnum? (not 5.9 Cummins?). Magnum, I'd agree, water pump is leaking out the weep hole under the pump shaft, bearings are gone. Check it with an inspection mirror.
