If you go with MSD you can get parts from most any guy at the track if you have a break down... I bought a OFF brand and it didnt last a week end at the track.. I went to MSD after that... the first few years I ran the gold box(MP) and it ran fine... but hard to find parts at the track

I use a MSD 6al and a MSD billet distributor. MSD launch control. Works for me.

I've been using MSD stuff since the late 70's and have yet to be disappointed. Like Mr. P sez.......look around the track and see what is working for others. My latest is a 6 AL 2 programmable and I haven't lit it up yet , but it has way more features than I have a use for. I went this way over a regular 6 AL so I could map the ignition curve with a locked distributor , but this thing has enough limits and retards to do pretty much anything you would want to without going up to the top shelf of ignitions.

Its tuff to beat MSD. It gives you multi spark and helps keep the plugs cleaner. That said I still run the MP orange box on my 63. I bought the box in 1998 and it has been flawless since then. But from what I hear the newer orange boxes give alot of trouble. We took this orange box and Acell coil off my sons Dart and put MSD on it in 2006 and his Dart ran the same et and started and idled the same. But I would still rather go with an MSD box and plan to when I get the cash. Course this orange box works fine and never misses a beat for me shifting at 6200. My dist is a Mallory electronic unit which works very good and I like it alot. I use a stock dist on my boys car with the MSD. And like was said you can get MSD parts just about anywhere. So I have no complaints with my orange box but do plan to go to MSD when I can. Ron
