Took my 68 apart years ago and need some detail pictures of the front head liner mldg attachments above the windshield. I have 4 clips that go into round holes that the moulding screws into. It looks like the outboard holes in the mldg line up with a small square hole. This also is where it covers the A pillar plastic cover. Is there some sort of insert that goes into that square hole that would hold a screw ? Will try to post pics later of it but hoping someone can help

Also, having trouble figuring out if I need sail panels.....If I remember right my car had them...Does anyone have a picture of their head liner installed but before the sail panels ? Just trying to picture how this area goes back together also. It looks like the 'toothed" brackets go all the way to the bottom of the rear window in the sail panel area so that is confusing me.

The 68 B bodies I have seen generally do not use sail panels. That is why the sharp teeth you speak of are mounted down by the package tray lower rear window. If sail panels are used those sharp tooth mounts are about mid way down the sail panel.

My 68 has the teeth going to the bottom but also has the extra set of gripper teeth for the roof liner that uses the exposed sail panel.

If you don't have this set of gripper teeth, then your car had the full roof liner with the hidden sail panel.

Perfect ! Just what I needed to see. My car did not have the vertical gripper teeth. So no seperate sail panels. I am assuming that the headliner is contact glued down on the package tray then to keep it tight?

Does anyone reproduce the hard board piece that goes underneath the headliner ? And the nail holding it drives into what ? Any detail on that would be great

Any words of wisdom on the front windsheild headliner moulding ?I am thinking the same clip might be used all the way across and I need 6 instead of 4 ?

Yes.......roof liner is glued to metal package tray. Six clips across the front sounds correct. Dante's sell the cardboard. There is a hole in the C piller (seen in 1st pic) that I assume is for the nail pin to snap into.

Cars built up to approximately May 20th use the full headliner.Cars built after May 20th have the sail panels.

The early & late '68 RoadRunners I've owned seem to support what Furyman says; late ones had separate & visible sail panels. All except one (early car) are/were St. Louis cars. In all honesty I don't recall that detail in my early L.A. RR.
