I have a 2004 Dodge 3500 Cummins. Right trailer turn signal and brake light do not work. Lights on truck work properly.

It is not a problem with the trailer wiring.
Wire all the way from the under hood fuse box to the trailer light plug is good.
Fuse is good...power to both sides of it.
Replaced FCM with used unit that is supposed to be good, and it didn't cure it.

Any ideas as to what is wrong? Fuse box itself bad?

If the wiring like you said more than likely the TIPM is bad (fuse box). Very common problem with those.

There is separate fuses for the trailer tow circuits. With a blown trailer circuit fuse the truck functions will still work. Double check the fuses.

I know that there are separate fuses for the trailer...#46 and 47 I believe. Both are 15 amp fuses...have power on both sides of the fuse, so they are for sure good.

I am pretty sure that it is the TIPM, too, but looks like used ones are around $200 and up...fine if it fixes it.

My 04 has been like that for 8 years now. I was told it was the FCM (forward control module) under the drivers side battery box, but finally changed it out this year with no change. It is probably a wiring issue but I haven't found it yet, I am just more careful when turning right. Now I see that it might be the TIPM? Let me know if it fixes your problem...

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

I agree with Todd as I have replaced a few TIPM's on the trucks for problems with lights over the years before I retired. Ron

Yes it is fuse #47. The front control module pin 34 ends a ground signal to the TIPM right turn relay #86 which causes the right turn relay to latch. Fused power From #47 fuse powers the relay #30 terminal and once latched sends power to #87 which is the right turn wire and it is light green[no tracer] in color. If I remember correctly the relay is incorporated into the TIPM module and is not service able.
