Love my truck but hate the vibration- I have all new tires, carefully balanced, and all new 4-wheel u-joints, new constant velocity joint, and just had the Dodge dealer do all new drive shaft u-joints,but still have my vibration.
Had new converted and flex plate installed and had the trans removed and looked at.
However, at 58 mph to about 68 mph I have a terrible vibration, especially under load or on a hill. I do not have it below 58 and over 68 mph. Now, when I touch the Tow Haul Button, The Vibration goes away, when I disengage it, it comes right back! ANY SUGGESTION ????? Thanks in advance HEMI JOE

does it change if you are towing a trailer?
you stated under load.... are you refering to, say, acceleration on a flat road? or do you have to be going up a grade.

There are fluid filled vibration balancers that cure that problem, I am considering buying some for my ramp truck. Here is one company that makes them.

Thanks for the reply- It looks like a great answer, but I still need to know the cause of the vibration. Thanks and be careful out their - HEMI JOE - Haulin Horse Power Transporters

Thanks for the reply. Yes it does do it on flat land somewhat, but it really vibrates on a hill. If I have my trailer on, I'am in Tow Haul mode, so I do not notice it as much. Thanks - HEMI JOE

I would observe the rpm range that it is most noticeable. Then I would hold the brake and try to bring the rpms to that level and see if you can duplicate the problem. Bumping it in and out of the tow haul modes makes it seem more rpm related vs speed. Worth a try.

Hate to seem stupid, but what is a carrier bearing and where is it located and can I replace it without removing the trans? Thanks - HEMI JOE

If you have a 2 piece rear drive shaft, it's the block between the two hanging by 2 bolts from a crossmember. I replaced mine with a 1 piece aluminum drive shaft------smoothed it out.

My bet too, the torque converter clutch is shuddering. It's not engaging enough to prevent slipping.
The key is when you unlock the TC clutch with the "tow" switch, the problem goes away.

I shudder to think of using it in a new trans...

Thanks for all the ideas!!! I used the red stuff to fix the shutter and it seems to have helped some. It now appears that the vibration starts at a higher speed, like 65mph. Hopefully it will get better, or the carrier bearing is the next replacement.. THANKS AGAIN !!!! HEMI JOE
