Is there a quick trick to be able to move a car equipt with an 8 3/4 but with no chuck?? I imagine a section of pipe to connect the 2 free floating axle ends. Any off the shelf size of pipe work?? Perhaps a section of blackpipe??

If it was an 8 3/4 the axles won't creep out since they are PRESSED into the bearings and the bearings are bolted to the housing ...

I'm talking from memory and don't do this every day, but how could they come out?

Nothing in the center chunk keeps the axles in if IRC. I thought the bearing retainers and locks held the axles in the housing. I don' think I would tow it in this state, but certainly you should be able to roll it.

The chuck keeps the bearings centered on the races . towing no , but some movement .

I have a ton of chucks , I would probably just set one up with a one legger carrier and no ring and pinion .

The axles are bolted in as said & just connect the 2 axles with a piece of pipe & you'll be fine for moving it around the yard

I just want to roll it back out of the garage so I can pull the motor out of it but have a better idea. Pull the motor first then yank the chuck.

Yep, if you want to be more stable throw a 1 1/2" spacer in the pipe to duplicate the thrust block.
