Are any of you posting real world experience or just what you read/heard about? The reason the OP is asking is not for suggestions? he probably wants positive results feedback. STEEL WOOL??? seriously?

0000 steel wool really does a good job at cleaning up old dirty chrome. It's fine enough that it doesn't scratch the finish but takes the dirt right off.

Real world experience using #0000 and M.E.K. You should try it.... Or are you one of those that washes his car with distilled water and dries it off with allergen free Egyptian Cotton cloths yet doesn't know which end of a screwdriver to use.
He was talking about years of built up black carbon exhaust soot.
Don't you have a car show to go to?

take it easy....I got caught up in the postings and lost track of what the initial question was. Now go put that screwdriver right up ya 4$$ I have no problem taking allergen free cotton to wipe off my car! I guess when you use a brush to apply paint you don't care how you care for it?
