Does anybody know a place to get power steering brackets for an AC equipped big block? I've looked at 440source and classic industries. All I can find are non AC brackets. This is for a 1973 Satellite with a 400. If I have to go junkyard scrounging, what years will interchange? I believe I have to find 73+ brackets, but not 100% sure. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the tip, John. But their brackets look like the ones that 440source said will not work. I guess I will give them a call after the holidays. From what I've read, if it had AC, the brackets had a different spacing so everything would line up. Here is a pic of what I BELIEVE I need, lol

My is John RR is right. Here's a pic of my engine, formerly non a/c, but I added a Sanden coompressor to modified factory a/c compressor brackets and used the same power steering pump on run of the mill bb saginaw pump brackets. You will need to change the alternator brackets to a/c style and use crank, wp and idler pulley setup from a bb a/c application. I believe the pic you have is from a truck/motorhome application that hangs the pump down pretty low. Hope this is some help.

Thanks for the help, guys. I guess I'll go ahead and order their brackets and see how it fits. I was under the impression that it had to be mounted lower, but I have no clue.

I'm using Bouchillon big block brackets for Sanden AC compressor and their brackets for power steering on the same car. Everything fit and works fine.

I'll ask the stupid question ... Are you looking to have a 1973 CORRECT look under the hood ? You can't just mix and match stuff unfortunately , the pulleys and brackets all need to work together .

If you are after the look of the picture you posted above , or you have most of those parts , then you'll need the 73 brackets , which I don't think is what Bouchillion sells. If all you want is power steering and A/C then order the Bouchillion brackets AND the pulleys they have.

That 73 setup is mostly the smae with or without air , on it is uses the PS as the idler adjustment for the waterpump, earlier setup never had the waterpump and PS on the same belt.

I'm not looking for a period correct restro, just something that will work correctly, without the belt jumping off. Since I dont know what I needed, I figured I'd try to find what came on the car originally. Anything that will work will be fine. Thank for all the help.

If you mahe nothing then you can swich over , your first thin to figure out is the lower pulley , I have a couple of A/C lower pulleys I let go for cheap to save you money , one is a 3 pulley, the other is a 4 , 30 shipped.

I appreciate it, but I have all the pulleys, the only thing I lack is the PS pump brackets.

What pulleys do you have ? the correct 73 ones or a pile of pulleys you've collected ?

I have all the correct pulleys. I bought the engine complete minus the PS pump and AC compressor. Im sorry, john. I had a brain fart when you asked what I had. I thought you meant bracket wise. Please excuse my blond moment, lol
