Is rear exit cable even a option in a e body wont the lever on tranny be moving oppsite in a rear exit cable shifter?

No, the difference is that it swaps direction (if it was pushing to up or down shift it will now be pulling) no problem with a Morse cable. What is a problem is getting a straight shot at the lever with the cable. On my 70 Cuda I drilled a hole through the trans crossmember and made a bracket. Takes a little engineering and effort but no more burned cables.

I usually mod my Hursts so that they come to the shift arm from the rear. I posted a pic of this on a thread here a day or two ago. It is not hard or complicated and works real well.
You anchor the end of the cable to a bolt threaded into the kick down pivot. Then weld a washer on to the pin that goes to the shift arm and put that between the nuts on the end of the cable housing.
That way, the cable inner is held steady while the housing moves back and forth with the shift lever.
One more tip; if you have any pick and pull yards near you, you can look in the engine bays of later model GM cars that have the engine removed. Some of them have the neatest heat sleaves over some lines and hoses. Those sleaves work great to further protect the cable from exhaust heat. And they are cheap.
Master, again and still
