There is an article in Chrysler Power that talks about Snow Performance's water/methanol injection system for Six Packs. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it.

WTF is going on with the sight now I had MR Yuck runs a sixpak with the Snow water/meth injection kit on this post when I posted it last night

Yuck will be along to tell you how great it is.

It won't allow you to run pump gas in place of race if that's what your motor is built for.

In this day and age of varying gas qualities, inconsistent ethanol content and regulatory changes, water injection may well at least protect our engines if not add a significant level of performance.

I am seriously considering making it a part of my next build. I run 11:1 on pump gas and things are good.......most of the time. But the engine is on the edge and occasionally I need to back the timing off because of gas even though I gas up at the same place. (93 octane supposedly)

It appears that meth/water injection can produce real performance improvements in certain combos. The water injection just may be a cushion that allows for a tighter tune without being on the ragged edge of destruction. That alone would be worth the price of admission.

This sounds like "snake oil" to me, but I've been wrong before.

, it defies logic that drawing a non fuel substance (water vapor) into an eng would give you better mileage & from the looks of it I wouldn't think it'd even draw much vapor at all & even if water vapor did help you'd have to heat the water somehow to get it to turn to vapor

there have been several cars on my friends dyno that had water/methanol injection. it has wasted his heated oxygen sensor on the dyno several times.
it can help if you motor is built for it and you know what how to use it properly.
basically with W/M injection it cools the intake charge allowing you to run more timing and compression for additional power.
it can also be used in boosted applications for more power. it really helps boosted cars without intercoolers.

it's not snake oil. it's basic science.
when you lean your engine out it make combustion temps go higher and you get pinging. add water injection to your lean mixture and now your temps are cooler now no more pinging.
leaner mixtures equal better gas mileage.
you must be careful with it. if you don't have the correct mixtures it can cause problems fast.

'Race gas performance on pump gas'...

The eternal chase...

At the end of the day, I think I'll make my life easier...

Like I have for a lot of years...

Throw in a little CAM 2...And be good to go...

I have no desire for incessant cam changes, head changes, compression jockeying, timing issues, carb issues, temp variations, pre-ignition, detonation, octane issues...

And on and on and on...

Deja vu..., Sort of reminds me of the Edelbrock water injecton system from the 70's/80's.

How often on average do you need to refill the water?

I want my fair share

i think the germans did it on their fighter aircraft in ww2. they also used NO2. is it practical? maybe, maybe not. it's been around for decades but seems to be more of a "niche" item.

OP, if you decide to use the Snow kit I would use it with straight Methanol only, no water I have used methanol with race gas years ago in a bracket car before the Snow system was available To directly answer your question on how to step up performance on amotor to make it runs a sgood as a race motor on race gas there is really no way to do that, if you make a big C.I. stroker motor designed for pump gas you can, and I have, make a hoop of power My 512 C.I. 400 block with a set of mildy ported 906 heads with 9.25 to 1 comp. ratio made 612 HP at 4500 RPM and 644 Ft. lbs. at 4500 RPM on CA pump swill back in 2004 Once I added a set of ported Eddy RPM, Harland Sharp 1.6 rockers and up the compresion ratio(10.29 to 1) to use the aluminum heads on pump gas it made more power and torque Lots of ways to skin the kitty

I had a few people suggest this product when I was dealing with detonation in my Charger. I have no room to use a spacer plate type system though since my air cleaner is 1/4" from the hood. Running 11.0 or higher compression ratios mean that you can't ever let your guard down.
I decided that being on that ragged edge of detonation for a few extra HP isn't worth it to me.
