Anyone use the Milodon 31470 dual line oil pan on a 65 B-body. I was looking on their site last night and spotted it. I have an old pan of unknown manufacturer now and it rubs.

My car has the original k-member and doesn't use motor plates.

If not the Milodon, anyone have any other suggestions.

Thanks!
Joey

The tube through the pan is in a different location between early and late b-body pans. That could be the source of your problem.

The milodon oil pan for the 65 and older has the tube for the steering draglink further forward of the Milodon pan for the 66 and up B-bodys.The engine sets further forward in the 65 and earlier cars.
If your planning on a new pan call Charlies Oil Pans for a custom pan.

Bob,
The pan I currently have is supposed to be for a 65, it doesn't rub hard but it does come into contact and that makes me nervous, I will take your suggestion and call Charlie's, at least I know it will be right for my car and not a mass produced piece.

After checking my 64 and 73 I think the hole is 1-2 inchs farther back on the 64, both with stock mounts. Is that what you meant? I got two later b-body pans and after checking i'll have to move the engine back now.

If it's a regular big block draglink try putting it on by reversing side to side.If it's just hitting slightly you can remove material on a sander to obtain clearence. You may loosen up all the mounts(trans) also and push the engine forward and lock it down.We have seen guys oblong the insulator holes in the mounts to gain clearence.
