Can anyone tell me if a 70 Road Runner can handle 255x60x15 tires all the way around without any clearence problems? or what would be a better choice? Thanks for any info. that can be provided.

i have 275/60/15 on the rear and 245/60/15's
on the front with no issues. looks like a 255/60 would be just fine. mine is also lowered 3" front and rear. i will be going to the 255's when its time to replace my tires.

I think you should also consider the wheel width and backspacing as factory wheels are different than repop's etc. You might order 2 tires and check on front if they scrubb you could move to the rear and put smaller ones on the front. Just a thought! Good luck!

Thanks for the info. & pic 70B7GTX. Are you happy with this set-up?, any rubbing in the front when making turns & etc?

I have 255x60x15's on my '69 Coronet. The rims are 15"x7", and I think the backspacing is centered 3.5"?
Plenty of space in the rear, but I think I have caught the front wheel opening trim on the front tire at the top center part when cornering at speed. I think if the front end was stiffer or taller it would not be a problem, or if the rims had a bit more back space? On the other hand, I could trim the inside of the whel opening trim about 1/4" and probbly not have the problem?

Yes, I'm happy with the setup. As far as I can tell, I have no rubs in the wheelwells, or on the steering.
