Floor pan is the same,I assume (and you know what they say about "assume") that the tracks are the same.

No they are not, according to the part #'s. I have always been told they are different also. Possible they may bolt up and work but there is some kind of difference or they would have the same part #'s

They may very well have different part numbers, but I do know from first hand experience that the bench seat tracks out of a 69 Coronet four door I parted out worked just fine in my 70 RoadRunner. They fit and functioned just like they should.

Never said they wouldn't work, but the #'s are different so they can't be the same tracks as stated earlier.

This set is from my 68 Road Runner bench seat. Tracks are installed now so no way to easily check for #s. Hope this helps.

Yes, they are the same.

PARTS VENDORS WILL TELL YOU THESE ARE THE SAME
Sorry Laysons... THEY ARE NOT!!!

I have personally owned both a 70 Coronet 2 door
and a 70 coronet 4 door...

The tracks look very, very similar as do the bench portions of the seats...
but they are NOT THE SAME...

For the record, I am looking at a factory parts book for 70-71...

The part numbers listed in the parts book for the 70 Coronet with a split bench seat are
DIFFERENT than the 70 4 door versions...

Now given that..
You should ask 3 questions..

1) Will 4 door seat tracks pulled from a 70
Coronet 4 door physically fit in the
70 Coronet 2 door car in the floor pan..
WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS? (i.e drilling)

The answer is: YES

2) Will the 4 door tracks attach to the 2 door
bench seat in the exact same positions?
I don't know this.. you'd have to try it...

3) Will the 70 Coronet 2 door split bench seat
with 70 coronet4 door seat tracks attached to
them lay the same once in a 2 door car?
(i.e seating angle)
Not exactly!

The 4 door bench is physically a different seat than the 2 door split bench seat. Again they look very similar...

I have had both off of their tracks laying on
a garage floor..they lay differently!

The 2 door bench seat cover will not fit a 4 door bench seat or vice-versa...

The ultimate question is can you get them
installed and get them to work

Most likely YES...

Can you live with the differences: Probably..
But they are different....

OLD318, please note that I was NOT responding to this post as a vendor, I was merely giving first-hand experience that I had with my own cars. No where in my post did I EVER offer to sell, or in any way, shape, or form promote a sale of any kind in my reply.

Again, I'll say this loud and clear, I was only giving my first hand experience with my own cars and in no way was the fact that I happen to work for Layson's brought into this subject until you yourself did so.......period.

Take that for what it's worth......

Yes, they are the same.

Rick, please forgive my trespass..

I'm not trying to start anything here
The simple fact is:

1) You are a vendor.
2) You did respond in writing with the above
statement:

"Yes, they are the same."

What would you reasonably expect an
unassumming car owner to think given that statement from a parts vendor such as yourself?

"Yes, they are the same"

as opposed to something more accurate like:

"They are not exactly the same
but you can get them to work"

The first statement implies identical..
The 2nd statement does not...
