Sounds exactly what I accomplished. My 71 GTX weighed 4100 with me, but ran 10.80's. I used a 1999 472 block, 10.75 to 1. 650 solid roller. Indy-3 intake with a Dominator. I used the 440 TTI exhaust and bolted right up to the Hemi TTI headers. Mildly ported Mopar aluminum heads.

To get where you want to go I prefer the pump gas flat tappet 528. Ray Barton has built plenty of them. Up to 800 hp. Let them guide you thru your build.

Since your Deleware and close to Barton's shop I would just have him build you a motor and you can go watch it run on the dyno.
It won't take much of a hemi to reach your goal.
I've had many motors built over the years for cars and motor cycles. Ray was the first engine builder that didn't over promise and under deliver on the horsepower. I wanted 800 hp and the motor made 845 hp.

As an FYI, his dyno will show hp numbers that are about 50 less than other engine dynos. So you would probably be showing around 900 hp on other dynos.

I've had this motor for about 10 years and I've never been disappointed with its performance.
