I plan on buying a new Mc Leod Pressure Plate and clutch disc this week.

I found out there are choices in the Borg & Beck units.

360156 6 roller
2350 clamp load, 10.95". wide 3 finger

360153 3 roller 10.95". wide 3 finger.

I'm using the over center spring so no diaphram clutch option. Bellhousing is a 70 Mopar OEM big block bellhousing. 485 stroked Hemi. Street only use.

What do you recommend and is there disc options I should know about as well. Thanks

The McLeod 3 finger set ups are either remanned older units (USA made) if your lucky, or current overseas newer made units (they'll have a made in China label), which are prone to failure, the "new" McLeod clutch discs are not any better, with most complaints being loss of the friction materials...IMHO your better off sourcing a Sachs or Luk cover and disc,...my recommendation is a 3 finger BorgBeck in the 2600-2800 lbs range and a Kevlar disc, makes for a nice street/strip set up, Sachs would be my first choice....3 finger set ups are getting harder to locate, I'd recommend either Keisler Engineering, or American Power Train for a Sachs source

Kiesler, I've heard too many horror stories on customer service. A little hesitant to buy there.

American Powertrain. I looked up their website and didn't find clutches under their mopar category.

I would recommend the twin disc from Mcleod. That's what I am using. Stay away from AP. been there and done that.

From personal experience, I would say to run as fast as you can from American Power Train. They might could have a decent product, but its a bunch of lug nuts working out of a hole in the wall wear house. They do not make any clutch components what so ever, everything is farmed out. I could elaborate on this story, but just take my word for it. I am going to use a McLoud twin disc. Brewers has the best price.

I bought a flywheel from AP. There's nothing wrong with the product but I'll never deal with them again.

They don't make their flywheels, they are made in Cal. from what they told me.That was the best part that they sent me.

There are few discussions going on over in the race/tech section with good information on pressure plates and discs
I would use a Borg/Beck/Long pressure plate if I were buying new. They have a smooth and easy lever action with quick release for crisp power shifts
