So the Wheel Vintiques series 56 wheels look really nice but their Polished trim rings (Part # 3003-P) look nothing like the originals. They are about 3/8" shallower, they look chrome, not polished and detail on the outer edge is no where near as sharp. Does anyone have a source for a more correct looking part? My car is a '70 so I believe Polished is correct for the 15" wheel but the chrome looks wrong. Thoughts? Thanks, Mike

No one. You have to look for good used and have them refurbished. No one has ever reproed the trim rings correctly.

Here are 2 possible choices that may be "more correct looking". I am not familiar with the details of an original ring.

This thread has a link to rings that the poster says do not leave a gap. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...;gonew=1#UNREAD

Here is a pic of a Specialty Wheels ring on 15x7 magnums/road wheels. I assume the gap would be the same on a 15x7 rallye.

In the same vein, who makes a good fitting trim ring for a 15" cop wheel?
Anyone have pic?

I know Wheel Vintiques has trim rings they say fit but I'd like to see them on a wheel first, if possible.

Thanks, Joe

FWIW, the parts book just says "chrome".

I'm ordering a "brushed" wheel vintiques trim ring from Summit to replace the "polished" to compare. I've also ordered a set from LMC Truck based on the feedback in the above thread from 2012. I'll report back and post some pics of the differences. Thanks everyone... Mike

The brushed ring is for 71 and later. Also the brushed ring from Vintiques looks like crap. It looks like it was done with 80 grit sand paper, and the factory ones looked like 380 or 400.Also the originals were polished on the lip where the Vintiques are brushed. I sent mine back and got polished ones, and I'm gonna spin them on a wheel and brush them myself.

Could you possibly elaborate on the word "junk"?

You could cut you hands on the sharp edges. Plus they had that brownish look to them, not a clear polished color. There customer service was great and took them back without issue. IE JUNK

OK, after having the Wheel Vintiques Brushed and Polished versions in front of me with the set from LMC truck I decided to keep the LMC truck ones. The wheel vintiques Polished ones looked like cheap chrome, the coloring didn't look "right" and they lacked the final "body line" where the trim ring changed from the edge going down toward the center of the wheel. Their Brushed ones also lacked the "body line" detail and looked like they were sanded with 100 grit paper. BOTH of the wheel vintiques rings also had very poor definition of the stamped ridge at the outer lip... like the die used to stamp them had problems. The LMC parts had that last bodyline stamped in which was just a radius in the WV parts, the lines of the stamping were crisp and not deformed like the WV parts and the coloring was a little better, IMO. They're not perfect, but they were closer than the others. Now; I'll throw a monkey wrench into the works. A friend of mine bought repro rallys and trim rings from WV several years back. His trim rings, in WV boxes, look like LMC stampings, with the extra, last bodyline in it. I tried capturing the coloring and definition of the stamping with my phone camera but was unable to do so.

not a bad price for factory 6 1/2" trim rings... correct factory 7 inch ones would be plenty more.
