how difficult in changing a outdoor 67gtx door handle... unfort it seems the only ones u can find are the repops, and the qty def not on par with oem..

the button when pushed in..stays in... need to pry it out with a screwdriver... it seems all u need to do for the install is take off the inside
handles, panel, have the window raised, and its 2 bolts... seems simple enough... but it can't be... or can it... for a novice??

thanks

That pretty much sums it up, I think it's 3 bolts though ?? 2 on the button side and one at the other end of the handle, don't forget a new gasket and you have to remove and reinstall the pull rod.

if the handle itselfs chrome is still good you might be able to fix the button issue. Is your replacement Chrysler boxed or an offshore import piece of crap ?

the handles are 3-4yrs old, and the car has been rarely used...maybe 1/2 times over that period..

the handles look fine, BUT, when I replaced the orig's 3-4 yrs ago, u could tell the repops were cheap/cheap Chinese crap... but that's all I could find..

I bought another set yesterday off ebay (trim parts was the name on the boxes), and says made in USA... comes with the gaskets and
screws (2)...

and u think I can undertake this 'project' ???... if I run into any hiccup, i'm driving up to mass for your help...

thanks

I haven't had a handle .. off the door ... in my hand so I couldn't remember how many screws hold it o, I think you should be able to handle it , the hardest part will be getting the door panel off without damaging it , buy a panel pulling tool .

Otherwise you'll have to drive up to N.H. , I moved out of the liberal cesspool 7 yrs ago ...

johnrr...after hours of pulling and pushing, I finally changed the door handle... actually the most time was spent looking for the clip that holds the rod onto the door handle... it was small, black, and I dropped it in the grass...

but its done... and so far working like a charm... on to the next project

My Demon had the same problem and when I pulled the panel it turned out to be a broken plastic clip that holds the rods together. That is an easy fix if it is the problem.

remove inside armrest, inside door handle, window crank and door panel. Two nuts and a clip hold it in. Not hard except pulling the door panel...I use a small wide pribar to get close to the clips and pop them out. Window must be in the up position
