Do you think it could be a 65 B body K frame? I looked at Shumacher's K frame tech page & it doesn't resemble any of the frames he shows. I just bought a 64 big block Belvedere & want to move the motor back a little with a later B body K frame & was hoping this one might work.
It is a 67 K frame at the latest because of the idler mount .

Looks like a 66/7B frame
Thanks for the info & maybe I can use it for the 64 Belvedere.

If you use a '66-later K-member in an early B it will set the engine back 1 5/8".

That's what I've heard, but is that really enough to make a difference in the way the car will handle? Also think I'll have some clearance issues with the 4 spd hump & the 440 heads clearing the firewall?

The main advantages of the setback is fan/radiator clearance, being able to use later oil pans and headers. Head clearance isn't a problem but the hump might need some massaging with a BFH.

Thanks John & will a crossram intake be a problem with the motor set back 1 5/8"?

I don't think the crossram will fit with the setback, the passenger side plenum hits the cowl box.

Thanks & I figured as much. There's some info in the tech section that talks about K frame issues as well. When I get the car & hopefully find the fendertag or get info from Chrysler Historical, maybe it'll be a street wedge car & that's how I'll build it. Don't think there will be firewall clearance issues with a single 4bbl, but know there will be fitment & mod issues with the 4 speed if I swap K frames. I wonder if moving the motor 2"back is worth the hassle??

It is a 67 K frame at the latest because of the idler mount .

You could make it use the 68 up idler by welding a tab above the idler .
