Guide coat is a very useful tool to help get the car really straight. Good luck, dont lose motivation and keep us posted

I had a friend come over and help block sand (actually he did all of it). He needs some pocket money and I want to get this thing done so we worked on it last night. The reason I feel bad is I wanted to be able to say I did the complete car myself with no other help (at least paid help). One thing is that I can still say that I am the one that has spent 99% of the hours on the car.

We finished blocking the entire body, sanded all of the edges and the new six-pack hood so the car is ready for its final coat of primer. It only needed filler in a few spots that were a little low. The hood is a really nice piece, it blocked out without the need of any filler and the gaps are awesome . No pics today of the progress today but I will post some by the weekend. My plans to finish are: Re-prime this weekend Wetsand the trunk/motor compartment/jambs for color Paint color in prepper areas Install drivetrain Wetsand exterior Paint exterior Cut & buff Hope to be there in a month or two (a year late).

Took off the paper/tape and removed the doors and hood to start prepping the jambs for color. I wasn't sure of the best way to do this so I ended up guide coating the engine compartment (just did this to make it easy to see where I had sanded enough, I'm not blocking the engine compartment) and started to hit it with the red scotchbrite. After I get done I will go back with 400 and wet sand the majority of it. What do you think of this plan? I've only broken through to DP in a handful of places, I assume this won't be an issue????
