Those of you that are running this. Does the assembly extend to where the mufflers would attach at the rear floor board?

Since my springs are moved in and I am running the stock tank I don't have the space to get tail pipes out the back. So, I need to dump before the rear axle. It appears that the x pipe assemble plus a set of mufflers and turn downs should do the trick?

Running TTI headers as well.

Thanks.

I have frame rail springs and TTI 3" to the tail pipes. Bolted right up to the rear seal bolts. I used 2 1/2" tail pipes. I wanted to try turn downs at the strip but It was too close to rear end housing. Maybe I didn't look enough because it was a while ago.

IMO dumping your exhaust in front of the rear axle SUCKS.
For many reasons, you will be so much happier with tail pipes if possible.

Springs are moved in on both of my E bodys and tail pipes are no problem. Don't know about A bodies if that's what your working on?

You can see my X-pipe , mufflers and tail pipes but it looks like you would have room to dump in front of the rear. Ron

I've got the system on my Dart Sport race car with Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers ending at the rear housing. The hangers bolt to the underside of the rear seat belt mounts. I think I would have room for down-turns. But I'm at work and can't double-checl or take pics today.

You should be able to cut back the ends of the x-pipe if the mufflers need to move back. Just gotta line up a straight piece of pipe for the hangers.

Thanks. So, the x-pipe takes it to the muffler attachment point for sure. I already have hangers off the seat belt bolts from the previous exhaust. That is what I needed to know. I am also concerned that I won't have space for turn downs, especially with the Dana 60 in the stock location (i.e not moved back) in a 68 Dart.

Would be great if I could get tail pipes out the back. There is a lot going on back there on a narrow A-body with the D60, stock tank, and moved in springs. Even if I could get the pipe over the rear end housing, that might help some without taking them the whole way to the bumper.

Have a shop make tail pip[es that go over the axle, through the springs and dump out under the 1/4s behind the rear wheels.

I've got about a foot from the end of the muffler to the front of the housing. Should be plenty of room for turndowns.

It's been years since I installed it so I don't recall how much trimming was done and where on the pipes..

I really appreciate the help, guys. I just ordered the x pipe through Mancini. I'll see what I have to work with regarding some type of tail pipes. I just want to get the car back on the road, so I might live with turn downs for the time being.

I just remembered, and not sure how much difference it would make, but I think that the rear seatbelt bolt holes are in a slightly different location vertically between '73+ and '72- a-bodies.

I have TTI headers on my '68 fastback cuda with a small block. I also use the TTI 2.5" x-pipe with flowmaster super44's that dump in front of the rear axle. plenty of room. I also use the TTI hangers that use the rear seat mounting bolts.

Got my stuff yesterday. Really nice quality, glad I went this route. Just got back from Summit a little while ago with some band-style clamps so I can get it apart easy if needed.
